Kiribati - South Tarawa Water Supply Project

The South Tarawa Water Supply Project's objectives are to increase access to and quality of water supply services and to improve the operational performance of the water supply services provider in South Tarawa. One of the project components is to support the design and construction of onsite or small decentralised sanitation systems and fecal sludge management systems and provide technical assistance and training to community-based organisations and other stakeholders involved in implementing and managing sanitation and fecal sludge management facilities. Eric provides expert support and technical assistance on infrastructure planning, analytical work, optioneering & design, project management and institutional strengthening.

The South Tarawa Sanitation Project (STSP) aims to address sanitation challenges in Kiribati by contributing to ending open defecation, improving service delivery, and closing the loop from access to sanitation facilities to sustainable management of wastewater and fecal sludge. Eric provides expert support and technical assistance on infrastructure planning, analytical work, optioneering & design, project management and institutional strengthening.
Tonga - Review of Tonga’s Rural Water Sector for Future Opportunities

The Government of Tonga has requested technical assistance from the World Bank in formulating future collaborative opportunities to support and enhance the resilience and sustainability of its rural water sector in the face of climate change impacts and accelerate progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG6). Eric reviewed the Tongan rural water sector, including an in-country mission. The review formulated recommendations and partnership strategies to pave the way for future investment by the World Bank in institutional strengthening and key rural water infrastructure priorities to accelerate progress towards SDG6. The project included in-country travel, engagement of stakeholders, face-to-face meetings, consultative workshops, analytical research on the water sector’s governance and regulation, assessment of the rural water sector’s issues, needs, and options, and site visits to villages and rural water supply infrastructures.
